Fingerprints is an independent branding and creative agency founded on the belief that good design is only as strong as the thinking behind it.

A fingerprint is the most personal mark in the world. No two are the same. That’s what a brand should be. Not something assembled from trends. Not something that only looks good in a presentation. Something people recognise before they see the logo. The best brands have a way of showing up consistently. In what they say. How they behave. The choices they make. That’s what interests us.

And that’s the kind of work we do.

WHAT WE’VE LEARNED

We started with one non-negotiable: good design matters. Not surface-level design. Design that worked. For the business, for the audience, for the problem at hand.

Then something sharpened it. The work that really moved things wasn’t just well made. It was clear, confident, stripped of everything that didn’t earn its place.

The real shift came when we stopped thinking about brand identity as a service and started treating it as a condition. Campaigns travelled further when the positioning was right. Products felt more intuitive when the identity underneath them was coherent. When that foundation didn’t exist, no amount of craft could fully save it.

So we changed how we worked. Strategy before anything. Brand thinking as the foundation, not the step you rush through to get to the interesting part.

The businesses that get the most from this kind of thinking come ready. Some are building something new. Some are fixing something that’s drifted. Some want work that lands harder than what came before. What they share is a belief that the thinking underneath matters as much as the output.

Eighteen years on, that’s still the work we care about most.
